The Adventures of Madeleine

A while back we spent the morning with "Auntie Georgia" at the Beech Creek Botanical Garden and Nature Preserve. It was a great time. We saw a miniature train set, fish, a turtle and did lots of walking.

We had an unexpected adventure today with Grandma Jean to what I refer to as the "hayground" on the grounds of a local orchard. It was designed specifically with children under the age of 6 in mind. Madeleine had a GREAT time!

Is this a harbinger of things to come? Madeleine was "drying" her hair today just like a big girl! And yes, the dryer was actually running this whole time (on cold air). She was so pleased with herself.

Madeleine went to the zoo for the very first time today, and she loved it! The penguins were a special favorite.

I love the penguins, can we just stay here all day?

Water play with Uncle Joel. A few seconds later she was on all fours with both hands in the water, probably would've jumped in if Uncle Joel hadn't been there!

We had a wonderful time at the lake this past weekend. Madeleine was wiped out by the end of the day, but she got to ride in a canoe and a speedboat, take a hayride, chase dogs, and generally run amuck!

Madeleine and I had a wonderful time at the Beech Creek Botanical House and Gardens today with Auntie Georgia!! And I'm so glad we went today as they'll be closing for the season in another week. It's definitely a place that anyone would enjoy, we recommend it! Here's quick photo of us watching the model train. I'll be getting more photos of this adventure, as well as Memorial Day, posted sometime over the weekend.
