Look mom, I rolled over!

And now that she's rolled over, she's decided to take the blanket with her :-)

Not part of the rolling series, but just for kicks.

Madeleine is cutting two teeth already!! It's her two front bottom teeth. Considering how much it must hurt, she's been doing very well.

And this one is just for fun because Mommy thinks her sucking on her thumb is adorable.

Mom thought it would be cute to put me in the laundry basket. I wasn't quite sure what I thought of this plan.

I like to roll around on my little couch. Since I can't sit up on my own yet, Mommy pulls it out so that if I fall, I don't have very far to fall.

Here I am kind of sitting up on my own.

Madeleine sitting in her Bumbo. With her new found love of sitting upright and looking around at the world, we've been scurrying to find things she can sit up in.

How do I get out of this thing? Is there an escape hatch?

We road tripped this weekend to visit Madeleine's great grandparents in Pennsylvania. Weather that day was pretty cold and windy -- but we prevailed and arrived in time for lunch.

Madeleine traveled well (surprisingly she stayed awake for most of the trip) and was a hit at the retirement center! She did get scared and started to cry when we went through the dining hall and lots of the residents were "ooh-ing" over her, but she survived. She even let Great Grandma Betty and Uncle Joel hold her and play with her -- this is huge since lately it's been "all mommy, all the time".

Madeleine had her first babysitters, her Grandma Jean and "Auntie" Georgia watched her while Mommy enjoyed a much needed afternoon out. Here are some photos of their time together.

Madeleine got a little extra play time in her crib before taking her nap :-) The gold fabric is her "lovey" which she seems to finally be noticing and taking a liking to.

We took our first shopping trip to Babies R Us with our "Auntie Georgia". Madeleine and Georgia had a great time exploring the store while Mommy got some much needed shopping done.

Madeleine has just recently learned how to blow "raspberries". Here is her giving a demonstration :-)

We were asked to have Madeleine's photos taken at Kiddie Kandids for one of the gals who was in training, as you can see Madeleine wasn't so into this plan.

One final try before calling the photo shoot a bust. The bonus was that we got a certificate to get a free 8x10!

Madeleine with the teddy bear sent to her by Barb (Grandpa Friesner's cousin). She loved this bear and was smiling and laughing at it even though you can't tell by this picture.

Well, I think we've recovered from the holidays! Madeleine has had quite a few milestones in the last month:

* Rolling over - both forwards and backwards
* Grasping - she's going for everything in sight! That includes Mommy's hair, toys, and clothes.
* Blowing rasberries - she seems immensely pleased with this accomplishment!
* Many now vocal sounds :-)

Yesterday we took our first shopping trip, not surprisingly we went to Babies-R-Us! Our "Auntie Georgia" went with us and she and Madeleine had a ball roaming the store while Mommy got some uninterrupted shopping done. Mommy was sad that we bought necessities like diapers and bottles, and not fun things like toys and cute outfits .... but she survived
